Two complementary mobile applications for a dental clinic — one for staff, one for patients — connected to the clinic's management system.
The context
The daily activity of a dental clinic involves constant coordination between practitioners, staff and patients. Schedules, the information needed to prepare appointments and communication with patients all need to keep pace with the clinic’s rhythm of work, inside and outside the fixed reception desks.
The work
In 2019, Waymotion began with Clínica Patrão the development of a mobile solution connected to the Dentewin clinical management system. The project was preceded by a phase of analysing the existing processes, designing the user experience and defining the access profiles and permissions.
The solution was designed along two complementary lines. An application for practitioners and staff supported the consultation and management of the information needed for the clinic’s day-to-day work. A second application created a digital channel for patients, easing their interaction with the clinic and the tracking of their appointments.
Development meant connecting the mobile applications with the data and services of the management system already in use. The architecture separated the data, the application services and the mobile interfaces, allowing the solution to be adapted to the clinic’s specific needs and to be used on Android and iOS.
The application was tested and refined in real conditions, through the identification of errors, the introduction of functional improvements and the revision of the user experience.
What it left behind
This reference shows how Waymotion applied mobile development and systems integration skills to a specialised context, bringing the clinic’s internal management closer to the digital experience offered to its patients.
