Contents

The event, organized by the Municipality of Mafra, focused on strengthening the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into local public management. The municipal leadership, including Mayor Hugo Moreira Luís and Councillor Marta Gomes, underscored the municipality’s commitment to innovation and sustainability through the “Mafra Mais Sustentável” project.

Strategic Presentations

Two strategic instruments were highlighted:

  • SDG Business and Project Pipeline – presented by Pedro das Neves, covering financing and strategic planning
  • Sustainable Municipal Budget – structured by Miguel Almeida, aligning financial planning with the SDG objectives

Waymotion’s Contribution

Nuno Cavaco Henriques, sustainability specialist, underscored the importance of “connecting strategic planning, financial management and sustainability” through digital solutions aligned with the 2030 Agenda.

Tiago Santos, Technical Director, demonstrated how WaySDG enables organizations to digitalize processes, map impacts, manage projects in an integrated way and measure results with territorial characterization and georeferencing capabilities.

  • Development of sustainable action plans compliant with the Climate Framework Law
  • Benchmarking against national and international SDG databases

The integration of WaySDG with the municipality’s project pipeline and sustainable budget reinforced Mafra’s commitment to innovation-oriented public management and the preparation of its Voluntary Local Review (VLR).
