Waymotion developed ECO PortsMadeira, an environmental management platform for APRAM that centralises the monitoring of energy, emissions, air, water, waste and biodiversity across the three regional ports.
“Sustainability only achieves real impact when it becomes action. When strategic vision aligns with engineering, results become tangible.”
What Was Developed
The initiative established a technological infrastructure that extracts environmental data from disparate sources and manual records. The platform consolidates the monitoring of energy, emissions, air, water, waste and biodiversity across the ports of Funchal, Caniçal and Porto Santo into a unified system.
The objective goes beyond regulatory compliance with the European Green Deal and the Fit for 55 standards — it equips port administrators with “a real tool for making strategic decisions based on concrete data.”
Partnership and Recognition
Waymotion thanked APRAM for the trust placed in it to lead the development of the platform and specifically acknowledged the partnership with GreenLab in establishing rigorous environmental frameworks.
Towards the Future
The organisation highlighted technological innovation — including the planned integration of IoT and artificial intelligence — as the true catalyst of decarbonisation efforts.
“The future is built today: with data, transparency and partners of excellence.”
