Mafra's 7th SDG Session brought together the municipal services in a strategic meeting that demonstrated a maturity of governance rarely seen in municipal contexts.
Waymotion was present at the 7th SDG Session of the Municipality of Mafra, which presented the municipality’s strategic planning pipeline for sustainable development initiatives.
Leadership and Framework
Led by Eng. Ana Carolina Ferreira, through the LabODS team, and guided by Prof. Pedro Mateus das Neves, this effort represents “a level of maturity that is still uncommon in municipal contexts.”
The municipality presented an integrated approach to sustainability governance, with “a pipeline of 517 projects and €1.7 billion in investment.” The initiative demonstrates remarkable organizational maturity in connecting strategy, projects, execution and investment at the municipal level.
Waymotion’s Contribution
Waymotion supports this transformative work through its WaySDG platform, helping municipalities move “from the SDGs as a strategic reference to real tools for territorial management and development.”
Key Achievement
Rather than simply presenting a portfolio of projects, Mafra demonstrated “an integrated model of sustainability governance” — a rare achievement that reflects a genuine organizational commitment to the 2030 Agenda.
Waymotion remains dedicated to helping municipalities transform “strategy into action and action into real impact.”
